We are well into the fall season and winter will not be far behind. Which means it's time to swap out those sandals for some trendy new boots. What's trending in boots this year? Well, the good news is that there are lots of options to choose from so you are sure to find a pair you love. Let's look at what's hot.
Lace-up boots: These come in ankle, mid-calf, or knee length and will appeal to women of all Seasonal Types due to the wonderful variations in both color and style available. You'll find everything from a Victorian lace-up boot to an edgy combat boot (think Doc Martins) with some great animal print options as well.
Squared Toes and Heels: This style will not work for everyone (myself for instance) but for those who have been looking for a squared off toe or heel, there'll be lots for you to choose from. This is a great boot for the women with a square jaw and she'll still be looking fabulous in it long after the trend has passed.
Rubber Soles: Such a smart idea for walking wet or icy streets. You'll find them in a wide variety of styles. If you're looking for a very practical rain or snow boot, this is the trend to go with.
Slouchy Boots: A slouchy shaft is perfect for pairing with tights or a pair of skinny jeans. This could be a promising trend for those (like myself) who have a wide calf.
Calf-hugging boots: In contrast to the slouchy boot, the shaft of this boot is made from a stretchy fabric that hugs the calf. Not likely to be the easiest boot for most to wear, but they certainly should sit nicely under a pant leg.
Fun Patterns: This might be the perfect time to find a pair of boots in one of your Seasonal patterns -- florals, plaid, paisley and animal skins are just some of the many patterns showing up this year.
Metallics: These will make a great boot to pair with a holiday outfit. Would you wear them everyday?
Fur, Feathers, Shearling -- if you have a favorite fuzzy texture you'll probably find it in or on a boot this season. Keep in mind these kinds of embellished boots will probably date quickly, but if they make you feel fabulous, go get 'em.
Here today, gone tomorrow? Thigh highs, platform heels, wedged heels and oddly shaped heels...these have the feel of a passing "fad" but we'll see if the trend continues beyond this year. You'll know what's on the way out by how many of them are still on the sale table early next Spring.
Wearing a trending shoe or boot is an easy way to keep your outfits looking relevant. So, which of these trends appeals to you?
