Do you offer virtual color analysis?

At this time, I’m committed to offering my color consultations in person. The Suzanne Caygill approach is highly experiential, and I believe there is simply no substitute for being together in the studio, working with your colors and experiencing your personal color harmony firsthand.

Virtual palettes require considerably more preparation and work on both our parts, and because of the nature of the process, they are actually more costly than a traditional in-person consultation. For most clients, it makes far more sense—and is considerably more enjoyable—to make a trip of it and come see me in person.

I’ve had clients travel from all over the United States, including Alaska, as well as from Canada and Europe. The Palm Springs area makes a wonderful destination for a weekend getaway or a longer vacation with family or friends.

There have been occasional circumstances when I have offered virtual palettes, such as during the COVID lockdowns, and I may revisit that option for trained color consultants or in other exceptional circumstances. However, virtual palettes are not currently part of my regular practice.I

My personal color consultation is currently $950 (effective August 2026).

This includes a 3+ hour, in-person consultation at my Color Studio in Palm Desert, California, where we explore your personal color harmony through the Suzanne Caygill Method.

Following your consultation, you will receive:

• A framable fabric swatch color palette, created in the tradition of Suzanne Caygill

• A small, purse-sized book of your palette swatches for shopping and everyday reference

• Personal notes on your Seasonal Style, including a collage of nature photographs selected to reflect your unique color and style expression

Your personalized materials are typically completed and mailed to you within a few weeks following our in-person session.

My palettes are custom made for you/with you, one fabric swatch at a time. We will be looking to learn the specific color quality you need, your personal color harmony starting with your unique skin tone, your unique eye color, and your unique hair color — then adding in the colors that harmonize best with you. Each specific hue is chosen because it creates a particular effect on you and on others when you wear it. You will have a deeper understanding not just of the color itself, but the value or intensity of the colors you can wear, your contrast level, the specific fabric finishes, textures, prints that work best for you and more. This is not about seeing which pre-made palette works for you, it’s about seeing you, your colors, your energy, what makes you stand out and shine.

We’ll also be looking at where you fit into nature, what “season” do you align with in nature and what specific sub-type of that season describes you and your colors best and why does that even matter. It’s a whole other level of Seasonal Color Analysis and hours of work will go into your consult both before and after we meet.

It’s about making sure YOU are seen, celebrated, supported, educated, and of course you get some really cool tools to help you shop and dress in ways that bring you forward.

And yes, you can get a color palette from many other consultants that will be much less expensive than mine. These can be a great option if you are on a tight budget and/or you are not looking for a personalized color palette and don’t care about the inclusion of colors that repeat your skin tone, hair color, or eye color.

Yes, I offer ongoing color & style support through a free regular newsletter (be sure to sign up) , blog posts, youtube videos and SM posts. But for those who want to keep learning I offer several excellent self-paced online courses for purchase. I also have additional in-person/virtual support wardrobe & shopping services that you can purchase.

Yes, many people who have had a color analysis done by another consultant have signed up for my online courses and have found the information really helpful — for “Making the Most of Your Seasonal Color Palette” you will find it most helpful if you’ve had a Suzanne Caygill palette done or another system that provides your skin tone, eye and hair color.

Sometimes a color analysis simply doesn’t get your season or your personal color harmony quite right. If you have concerns about a previous analysis, I would first encourage you to reconnect with the consultant who worked with you and ask them to take another look.

But if you feel their tools or approach were too limited to give you an accurate analysis—and you want to get it right—I would be happy to work with you.

My approach is collaborative and very personal. We’ll look beyond simply assigning you a season to determine where you truly belong within the seasonal system and which colors support you best. On the rare occasions when something hasn’t felt quite right for a client, I have continued working with them until we understand what is missing and get to the right answer.

I’ve worked with clients who had already had several color consultations elsewhere and still felt they hadn’t found their seasonal “home.” Together, we’ve been able to uncover the season and the specific colors that finally made sense to them.

You don’t have to simply accept a season that doesn’t feel like you.

A Seasonal Color Consultation is a personal one-on-one service that helps you discover the colors, textures, fabrics, design lines. that are most visually harmonious with you and will support you and bring out your inner light.

The courses were designed to help you continue to grow in your knowledge and understanding of your seasonal color palette — to better understand how to use your colors, discover the way you want to use style to express your season and yourself, how to build a wardrobe for your lifestyle or even perhaps to go deeper and learn more about seasonal analysis as a possible career path for yourself.

I use individual fabric swatches rather than traditional drapes—and there is a very good reason for that.

I have more than 20,000 unique fabric swatches to work with. With that kind of variety, we can explore an extraordinary range of hues, shades, tones, fabrics and textures and discover the colors & textures that are uniquely harmonious with you. When we find a color or fabric that works beautifully, it goes directly onto your personal color palette.

Over the course of our time together, your palette literally emerges on the table before your very eyes. Rather than being given a predetermined palette, you participate in discovering the colors that belong to you.

It may be hard to imagine that we can learn so much from a small rectangular piece of fabric, but clients are often surprised by how much we can see when a swatch is held close to the face. The interaction between your coloring and the fabric swatch becomes remarkably clear.

Traditional drapes can certainly be useful, but they have limitations. They are typically made from the same type of fabric, offer a relatively limited range of colors, and the colors you see in the drapes don't necessarily translate directly into the individualized palette you take home.

For me, the goal isn't simply to show you which drape looks best. It's to discover your unique personal color harmony and create a color palette that is truly yours alone.
